Another Trip Advisor Review...Happy Days - St Lucia Weddings

This resort was chosen by our son and his fiancee for their wedding venue. Our party included both sets of parents, sister, brother in law and children 10 strong in all.
We found the location and staff to be first class. The rooms were all upgraded to Beach Front and Suite. Rooms, beds etc were good and maid service daily. Free safe's in rooms.
The food was limited in the Pier and Le Jardin resturant's and remained the same for 2 weeks. This was tiresome and mentioned to the management. No changes made during our stay.
The Bambou was slow for service but the food was ok. The Palms was always good service (No reason for this) and after a word with management a buffet lunch was started to take away the formality of waiter/waitress service at lunchtime.

St Lucia Weddings

An absolute must is Capt. Joy's trip (Found under the Almond tree on the beach) great value and great people. Rainbow diving was also good and we were not ripped off as other's have suggested they were.
The water sports (Included free) were good and we felt safe (No do goody H S E placing you in cotton wool).

All inclusive meant what it said on the tin......unlimited drinks (Banana/strawberry Daquari's, Mojito's and Marguerita's galore) unsure of alcohol percentage, unlimited tea/coffee all day long.

Pools clean and well maintained on a daily basis. No music allowed, except with earphones, Great.

Great atmosphere around the whole site, plenty of sunbeds even though the 5am crew were out placing towels out 6 hours before they needed to use them, all nationalities did this.

Trips to towns and outside restaurants safe and locals friendly and we were not hassled by traders at any time.

Our son's wedding 18th Feb and our wedding vow renewal 21st Feb were the best days (See below for exceptions) The day of the wedding was fantastic, Bill Mortley (St Lucia wedding Photographer) found on Trip Advisor was exceptional. www.billmortleyphotographer.com Certainly good times to remember.

Tap water safe to drink, UK plugs in most rooms, no need to buy US like we did.

DOWN SIDE

Be advised, If you are to marry at Almond Morgan Bay make sure the wedding co-ordinator Jessica is avoided at all cost if you want a professional to arrange the delicate balance of the occasion. Ask for someone else, anyone else to make the arrangements for you. Ignoring your clients on their special day, getting the flowers wrong, cake wrong, transport wrong, is not the best way to arrange a wedding if its your only job and to cap it all, blame other people for the mistakes. This did not marr the day as the bride and groom had a fantastic time despite it.

Last of all Thomas Cook.
Their slogan is "Don't just book it, Thomas Cook it" Our new slogan is "Just don't book it with Thomas Cook it" Check out Murphy's Law, again they did not affect our great time there.

Either book direct with Almond and Virgin or use Virgin Hols, their rep attended every day and assited us as TC rep worked a 3 day week...... possibly.

Make your veiws known to the management of the hotel in a civilised manner and you will be looked after.

Great hol will go again
